Homicide detectives are investigating after a man’s body was located Sunday in Matthews Beach Park in northeast Seattle.
On Sunday, January 26th, shortly after 11:00 am, officers were dispatched to investigate reports of a body found in Thornton Creek inside the park. Officers arrived and located a deceased adult male and notified detectives.
Detectives responded to the scene. The Harbor Unit also responded to assist with the recovery of the body. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took custody of the body.
The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an investigation and ruled the death a homicide. This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Seattle Police violent crimes tip line at (206) 233-5000.
