Gang Detectives Investigating Early Morning South Seattle Shooting

Detectives from the Gang Unit are investigating following a shooting that injured a 20-year-old man in the Brighton neighborhood early Monday morning.

At approximately 2:20 AM, officers responded to a report of shooting in the 6700 block of Rainier Avenue South.

Officers arrived and located the victim. He informed officers that he had been shot while seated in his vehicle but declined to answer any additional information. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire medics.

A 25-year-old woman told officers that she was standing outside of the parked vehicle when the shooting occurred. According to the witness, a group of males approached the parked vehicle and one of the males shot into the vehicle. The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle. There is no description at this time. The female sustained minor injuries from shattered glass.

Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
