Man Kills Woman In Domestic Violence Incident in North Seattle

Detectives are investigating after a 42-year-old woman was killed in a domestic violence shooting at her North Seattle home.

Around 1:40 PM, police were called to a home in the 7500 block of 25th Avenue Northeast after receiving a 911 call with yelling in the background and a report of a man with a gun.

Officers arrived and entered the home, where they found the 42-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Police called for medics, who declared the woman deceased at the scene. Police then began searching for a person of interest, who the woman had previously been in a dating relationship with.

Just before 2:45 PM, police received a report of a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a park bench in the 2300 block of Arboretum Drive East.

Officers responded and determined the man in the park was the person of interest. Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

SPD Homicide/Assault Unit detectives are investigating at both scenes. This is an active and ongoing investigation and this post will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
