Homicide Investigation in North Seattle

Update 7/27:

A 48-year-old man is in custody for murder after he was arrested late Saturday night in the city of Kent, Washington. The suspect was interviewed by detectives and then booked into the King County Jail early Sunday morning for investigation of murder, felony assault and the unlawful possession of a firearm. This remains an active and on-going investigation.

Original post 7/21:

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally shot in an Aurora Avenue motel in North Seattle early this morning.

On July 21st, at approximately 4:15 AM, officers responded to reports of shots fired at the motel in the 8200 block of Aurora Avenue North. Officers arrived and located the victim, a 49-year-old male, in the lobby, with a gunshot wound. Officers immediately provided first aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived. Unfortunately, despite the life-saving measures, the victim was declared deceased at the scene.
