#2020-236215/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 8-10-2020 at 0737 hours, an unknown female entered a grocery store and put various items into the store basket. The woman walked out of the store without paying for the items, followed by the store manager who was trying to recover the stolen items. The suspect then pulled out a large fixed-blade knife, brandished it and yelled “Get away!”. The manager did, and the suspect fled down the street.
#2020-236597/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 8-10-2020 at 1507 hours, officers responded to the 1100 Block of S Albro Place for a report of a suspect trying to break into a small coffee stand with the female barista still inside the business, on the phone with 911. As officers were responding, the suspect was intensifying his attempts to gain entry. Officers arrived and contacted the suspect who was in a heightened state of crisis and/or drug influence. The suspect was taken into custody, transported to the King County Jail and booked for Investigation of Burglary. The barista was not injured.
#2020-236600/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 8-10-2020 at 1514, a suspect approached 2 males outside of an apartment complex in the 2400 block of 4 Ave and began yelling anti-homophobic slurs at them. The suspect then began threatening them and posturing as if he was going to assault them. The victims were in fear for their safety and called 911. Officers arrived, arrested the suspect without incident. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Malicious Harassment.
#2020-236677/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 8-10-2020 at 1713 hours at Rainier AV S/S Bayview, a female became upset at a known male, broke a beer bottle, and then stabbed him with it on the side of his head. The victim was treated at the scene for a significant, but apparently non-life-threatening injury and taken to the hospital. The suspect was booked for Investigation of Assault.
