SPD Sergeant Placed on Leave as OPA Investigates His Actions During August 13th Protest

The Seattle Police Department has placed a sergeant on paid administrative leave pending an Office of Police Accountability (OPA) investigation into conduct at a demonstration on August 13th.

The department received multiple inquiries about a video showing a member of the public expressing concern about statements made by the sergeant, as well as his driving while on-duty.

The department forwarded the video to the OPA for further review and has placed the officer on leave.
