#2020-250293/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 8-26-2020 at 0750 hours, a male confronted another male outside a residential building because of the volume of his music. During the confrontation, the suspect threatened assault and referred to the victim using racial derogatory slurs. The suspect then left the area. An area check for the suspect was negative.
#2020-217750/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-20-2020, two suspects robbed the AM/PM at 144/Greenwood Ave N. The male suspect flashed a firearm he had partially concealed in a messenger bag. The male and female suspect fled the store on foot. After a thorough investigation, an SPD detective identified the suspects (convicted felons), identified their vehicle, and determined where they lived. The detective then secured signed search warrants for the vehicle, suspects, and their apartment. On 08/26/20, robbery detectives and North ACT surveilled the apartment and arrested both suspects without issues. The warrants were served and evidence was recovered.
#2020-250978/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 8-26-2020 at 1630 hours, a female suspect came into a local restaurant (in Mt Baker neighborhood), distracted an employee, and stole a wine bottle. A manager confronted the female as she was driving away. The vehicle grazed his foot as it was leaving. The suspect left but came back 15 minutes later and returned the wine bottle and left again. The manager sustained some minor injuries.
#2020-250958/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 8-26-2020 at 1915 hours, a male was fixing a vehicle outside an address in South Beacon Hill neighborhood. Several juvenile males robbed him of his wallet and left. The suspects got away with some cash and bank cards. There were no injuries to the victim and no weapons involved.
#2020-250993/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 8-26-2020 at 1945 hours, during a protest-riot, a man was seen by officers breaking multiple windows at the Key Bank located at 321 15th Ave. E. The suspect attempted to evade officers but was taken into custody. Search incident to arrest, a Molotov cocktail was found in the backpack the suspect was wearing. Arson Bomb Squad was requested and responded to the West Precinct with ATF and the FBI. Preliminary tests showed that the device was a destructive device as described by RCW. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Malicious Mischief and Possession of an incendiary device. The case is being prepared for Federal charges with the assistance of ATF and the FBI.
