#2020-258284/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 0335 hours, officers responded to a report of three vehicles on fire in front of a residence after hearing a “boom”. The Fire Marshall responded and located two Molotov cocktails which were recovered for evidence. Possible suspects were 3-4 people who left in a gray or silver mid-90’s SUV. Unknown motive.
#2020-258337/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 0800 hours, the daily BLM Every Morning March began in the area of South Lake Union. West patrol monitored the group of about 20 cars, and they proceeded to access to I-5. Once on the Ship Canal Bridge they blocked traffic. State Patrol took over the event and SPD stood by in case there was a need for assistance. State Patrol made arrests and impounded vehicles.
#2020-258684/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 1407 hours, an SPD motor unit came upon a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the 1400 block of 3 AV S. Seattle Fire responded and extinguished the fire. Investigators responded and were unable to determine the Cause and Origin. This fire is being classified as undetermined pending further investigation by the Arson Bomb Squad. There were no witnesses and no video could be located. The owner of the vehicle could also not be located. It appears the vehicle is an abandoned vehicle that was up on blocks possibly being used as a shelter. No injuries.
#2020-258819/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 1630 hours, a woman was walking on University Wy NE. The suspect followed the victim and at one point shoved her into a store window. The suspect was yelling at her about her sexual orientation, saying how he should hate the victim and that the victim is disgusting etc. The victim is transgender. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail.
#2020-258852/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 1716 hours, several citizens reported hearing five gun shots in the area of 26 Av and E Cherry St. A witness described a driver in a black vehicle fired several rounds into the air, not at anyone in particular. One vehicle was located with the rear window shot out, as well as damage inside the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
#2020-212147/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-4-2020 at 1200 hours, a suspect in the theft of a police rifle was arrested in Everett, WA. by Agents/Detective/Officers from the SPD Robbery Unit, BATF, the USMS/Snohomish County Violent Crimes Task Force, and the South Precinct ACT Team & DOC. The suspect stole a rifle from an SPD vehicle during a large scale riot that occurred in Seattle on May 30th, 2020. The suspect was booked into the Federal Detention Center (SeaTac) and will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office in Seattle.
