#2020-273914/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 9-22-2020 at 1221 hours, Seattle Fire and SPD officers responded to a fire at 8551 Greenwood Ave. N. The fire was located inside the cement parking garage and was suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system. The fire consisted of two recycling bins. The lid of a nearby dumpster was also melted. No structural damage occurred. North precinct personnel contacted the building manager and a suspect was seen on video entering the parking garage just prior to the fire and then leaving just afterward. North Patrol personnel also made an area check for the suspect who has reportedly started other fires and disturbances in the area. Arson Bomb Squad responded, and the investigation is on-going. 

#2020-274471/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 9-22-2020 at 2330 hours, a female arrived home with her sister. As she exited the car an unknown male approached her, threatened her with a gun, and took her purse. The suspect then turned to the sister and attempted to take the sister’s purse. The suspect and sister fought over the purse. The suspect got the sister’s purse but dropped the first victim’s purse. The suspect fled the scene. Containment was set up. An area search was conducted but the suspect was not located.
