#2020-306498/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 10-29-2020 at 1424 hours, officers responded to a report of protesters inside the King-5 building in the SODO neighborhood. The call read that there were 5 protesters in the lobby and were refusing to leave. Officers arrived and the protesters left the lobby without incident. The protesters (12-15 in numbers) stated that they were there to protest a King-5 news story airing tonight about arrested protesters. They remained in the King-5 outdoor plaza, refusing to leave. A sergeant arrived on-scene and spoke with the protesters, building security and the building property manager. After consulting, the decision was made to avoid conflict and not remove the protesters from the plaza as the alleged crimes committed by the protesters did not warrant the resources and real potential for physical interaction that would have been necessary to remove them. The Community Response Group was notified of the incident and the potential for further issues.
