Officers recovered a shotgun, handcuffs, and methamphetamine while arresting a convicted felon in a stolen car in SODO on Sunday.
Around 12:15 PM, patrol officers spotted a stolen, running Lincoln Town Car in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in the 1900 block of 4th Avenue South.
Officers detained the 43-year-old driver and found a stock-less shotgun and handcuffs in the vehicle, which had a significantly damaged ignition.
When officers asked the driver how to turn off the vehicle—which was running, despite not having a key in the ignition—he told them they would need to use a screwdriver.
Officers found just under 8 grams of methamphetamine on the driver, who is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess firearms, and booked him into jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, narcotics possession, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
