#2020-333427/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 0230 hours, patrol was dispatched with Seattle Fire to a vehicle fire at 97 S. Main St. The Arson Bomb Squad was notified and responded with SFD investigators who determined the fire to be incendiary/suspicious. ABS detectives will handle the follow-up investigation.
#2020-333516/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 0618 hours, a fire marshal was on the scene of an RV fire in the 500 block of S. Lander St. Patrol and the SPD Arson Bomb Squad responded. The fire marshal could not determine the cause of the fire, and no witnesses or victims were located. ABS detectives will handle the follow-up.
#2020-333589/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 0822 hours, officers responded to the 3800 block of 49 Av Ne for a suspicious vehicle call with two occupants sleeping in a running vehicle. As officers contacted the suspects, the driver put the car in drive a sped off SB on 49 Av Ne which is a dead-end street. Officers were on foot and did not pursue the vehicle. Moments later the suspect vehicle returned NB on 49 Av Ne. The suspect vehicle collided with a patrol vehicle and another citizen’s vehicle parked on the other side of the street. The suspect vehicle continued NB, jumping up on the curb and around two other patrol vehicles.
#2020-333873/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 1317 hours, a northbound vehicle, driven by an adult female, turned left in front of a southbound motorcycle at the intersection of Aurora Av N/N 143 St. The motorcycle struck the side of the car, ejecting the adult male rider, who sustained substantial bodily injury. The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and found to be impaired (and likely distracted). A sample of the driver’s blood was obtained via warrant and she was subsequently booked for Investigation of Vehicular Assault.
#2020-333931/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 1420 hours, a suspect threw outdoor chairs and a table at the windows of a business, resulting in damage. After doing so, the suspect was said by the victim to have made a derogatory statement about the victim’s heritage. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of SPD, and the victim had since relocated as well. The report was taken via phone by the responding officer, and the victim agreed to speak with a Sergeant later this week.
#2020-334114/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 1813 hours, a red Toyota pickup made a left turn in front of a SB Light Rail Train at the intersection of MLK Jr Wy S/ S Graham St. The truck glanced off the side of the train as the train came to an emergency stop, causing minor damage to the train and the vehicle. The driver of the truck, nor the thirteen Light Rail passengers, reported any significant injuries. The vehicle was cleared from the tracks and the train was cleared for travel by King County Metro supervisors.
#2020-334144/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 12-02-2020 at 2000 hours, Seattle Fire was called to the scene of a structure fire in the 100 block of 22 Ave E. This is a known vacant house that is, at times, occupied by various individuals. While on-scene, fire pulled one victim from the building who later succumbed to their injuries at Harborview Medical Center. Based on their investigation at the scene of the fire, the fire marshal determined the cause and origin to be accidental in nature. Patrol and the SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad were on-scene to assist with the investigation; the Medical Examiner was notified.
