#2020-334322/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 0033 hours, the owner of a Georgetown business called 911 and reported a burglary in progress. The business is next to an unmanaged encampment in Georgetown. Officers responded to the business and found the suspect hiding in the basement of the business. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Post Miranda, the suspect admitted to the crime. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail. The business owner stated that his business had been victimized many times.

#2020-329787/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 1331 hours, officers were investigating a secluded forested area off of the BNSF rail yard in the South Beacon Hill neighborhood. The officers were investigating a vehicle dumping area that is associated with a felon who is currently in jail. Officers discovered a newer RV trailer in a clearing that looked out of place. The officers ran the trailer and it came back as a stolen RV. The officers detained the three female suspects in the RV. Officers also discovered a stolen U-Haul car haul trailer hidden in bushes as well as several SPD and outside agency stolen vehicles. The vehicles were in various states of being stripped for parts as well as being burned out hulks. It was apparent to the investigating officers that they had happened upon an outdoor chop shop operation. Officers eventually released the three suspects from the scene after identifying them and taking statements. Officers ended up recovering the stolen RV, stolen U-Haul car hauler and four stolen vehicles. The investigation will continue.

#2020-334809/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 1417 hours, officers and King County Sheriff’s Office bike deputies responded to the 500 block of 2 AV for a report of a male who had been stabbed. The victim suffered a severe laceration to his arm with significant arterial bleeding. The victim was stabilized with a tourniquet and Seattle Fire transported him to Harborview Medical Center. SPD patrol officers developed possible suspect information through canvassing and interviews in the area, but the suspect was not located.

#2020-334910/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 1559 hours, officers responded to the area of Occidental Park for the report of a possible assault occurring against Seattle Parks Department employees. Officers arrived on scene and during the course of the investigation, learned that the suspect used bias comments toward a parks employee before and after assaulting the employee. Through further investigation, it was determined that probable cause existed to arrest the suspect for a hate crime offense. The suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.

#2020-334936/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 1626 hours, officers located an occupied stolen vehicle at 800 S. King. After other officers arrived, they detained everyone in the vehicle without incident. There was also a male outside of the vehicle who threw down a metal object, later identified as a working “Slam Gun” using 12 gauge shot shells that had been recently test fired by the suspect. Two people were arrested, the weapon, ammunition, multiple shaved keys and car prowl tools, heroin, meth, crack cocaine and the vehicle were recovered.

#2020-334765/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 12-03-2020 at 1850 hours, a male returned to a business after being trespassed by employees in the presence of officers. He demanded $50, walked around the counter and grabbed the landline phone, taking it from them. When the employee demanded the property returned, the suspect attacked him causing minor injuries. The employee defended himself with a stick. The suspect fled and was captured by officers working the area. During the search incident to arrest, the handcuffed suspect unsuccessfully tried to head butt one of the officers. Search incident to arrest, officers recovered methamphetamine, heroin, and oxycodone. The stolen phone was not recovered.
