#2021-003102/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 0132 hours, officers responded to the 1800 block of Summit Av for a report of shots fired into an apartment. Officers on scene contacted a victim who stated he became involved in a verbal argument with a passerby on the sidewalk. The passerby/suspect then produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds into the victim’s apartment. The suspect left in an unknown direction and was not located. No injuries were reported. Evidence of a shooting was located and damage to the glass windows was photographed. The victim’s cousin believed the incident was gang related.
#2021-003136/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 0230 hours, a female stated that at approximately 0230, she was at 16 Ave SW/SW Henderson St smoking a cigarette with her car window down. The victim stated that she stopped for the stop sign, and the suspect came up and ordered her out of her car. The victim stated that the suspect grabbed her left wrist and started pulling her out of the car. The victim stated that she also felt something hard pressed against the back of her head, which she thought was a gun. The victim stated that the suspect entered her vehicle and drove away. It should be noted that the victim’s vehicle was involved in a hit and run collision approximately an hour earlier on 3rd watch, and it was towed from the scene. A witness to the collision saw two individuals, but at the time he couldn’t describe them. Also, the earlier collision wasn’t far from the victim’s home.
#2021-3154/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 0420 hours, officers responded to an alarm at the location. When they arrived, the owner said a suspect was inside. They entered and arrested the suspect. She was transported to the King County Jail and booked for burglary.
#2021-3162/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 0437 hours, officers observed a stolen vehicle parked and occupied by at least two subjects. Officers verified the vehicle to be stolen out of Kent PD. Several units were in the area and responded. Both the driver and passenger were safely removed from the stolen vehicle and taken into custody without incident. Both subjects were found to be in possession of suspected Black Tar Heroin, which tested positive via field kit. The stolen/recovered vehicle was impounded as an outside agency recovered vehicle.
#2021-3191/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 0600 hours, SPD detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Taskforce arrested a suspect at his residence on Capitol Hill. The suspect was wanted for federal warrants/violations.
#2021-003491/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-05-2021 at 1415 hours, officers responded to a possible arson at a church in the 6200 block of Beacon AV S. While investigating the scene, the suspect returned and was taken into custody. The suspect was suffering from apparent mental health issues. Both the SPD Arson Bomb Squad and Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Marshal Unit responded to the scene. Ultimately, the suspect was sent to the hospital for on an emergent detention pending criminal charges for Reckless Burning.
