On 02-08-2021 at 2016 hours, a male was in an ER receiving mental health services. He was told that there was a hold on him for mental health reasons. The suspect wanted to leave and became upset when he was told that he could not. The suspect then balled his fists and took a fighting stance and threatened to assault the ER doctor (victim). He then calmed down and returned to his room. Later as the doctor walked by the room the suspect called him a racial slur. The victim reported he felt targeted due to his race and feared that he would be assaulted. The victim did not want the suspect arrested, believed the statements were made due to a mental health crisis, and wanted the suspect to finish his treatment. The suspect was warned that he could be arrested if his behavior continued and was left in the hospital’s care.
