Officer Recognizes Stolen Car, Arrests Driver

Police arrested a man in South Seattle early this morning after an officer found him pretending to be asleep in a stolen car.

Around 3:30 AM, an officer was driving down a cul de sac at 33rd Avenue South and South Eddy Court when he spotted a stolen car, which he’d taken a report on just days earlier.

The officer saw a man in the driver’s seat, who appeared to be pretending to sleep. Police took the man into custody and found a set of modified keys—typically used by car thieves—in the vehicle, along with a driver’s license and bank card, which did not belong to the suspect.

Officers booked the 50-year-old suspect into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
