#2021-031304/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 1150 hours, officers responded to an in-progress auto theft at a gas station in the 7300 block of Delridge Way SW. The adult male suspect stole the victim’s white Subaru passenger car and fled northbound on Delridge Way SW at a high rate of speed. The suspect lost control of the vehicle in an active construction zone. The suspect flipped the vehicle. No construction workers were hit or injured. Officers responded and tracked down the suspect who had fled on foot. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail.

#2021-31490/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 1633 hours, a male with a semiautomatic pistol stole a vehicle, phone and ring from a victim and left in the stolen vehicle. Responding officers were able to map the phone to Renton prior to it being turned off. Renton PD observed the stolen vehicle and attempted contact, but the vehicle fled and could not be reacquired.

#2021-31659/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 2020 hours, officers responded to the area of S Willow ST and 46th AV S to investigate a report of a shooting. The victim reported that he had been driving eastbound on S Willow ST, when an unknown male began firing a handgun at his vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was struck several times and the victim fled to a nearby location and called 911. The victim was not injured in the shooting. Officers canvassed the area and recovered evidence.

#2021-031699/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 2142 hours, a male was involved in a disturbance at NE 130 St/ Lake City Wy NE. Afterwards he ran out into traffic and laid down in the roadway. An unsuspecting driver traveling north on Lake City Wy NE collided with the male and called 911. Per witnesses, the male put himself in the roadway and laid down. The area was dark, and the male appeared to be wearing dark clothing. The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad was advised of incident. Seattle Fire treated the male on-scene and transported him to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.

#2021-031762/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 2306 hours, just after bar close, an officer was driving to an unrelated call when an intoxicated / possibly male in crisis ran into traffic at 12 Av / E Pike St; in front of the officer’s car. When the officer exited to contact the male, he began charging at the officers and swung a 4-to-5-foot-long shovel handle at the officer. The officer was forced to retreat and called for back-up. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The arrested male stated he swung the pole at the officer, wanted to be arrested for assault 2, wanted to be booked so he could get another strike and be taken to “Walla Walla”. Officers booked him into the King County Jail.

#2021-31768/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-06-2021 at 2322 hours, an officer on-viewed a suspicious vehicle near S Massachusetts ST / Valentine PL S. The officer approached the vehicle and observed a male sleeping in the front seat, engine running, with a handgun under his thigh. The officer called for additional resources and the subject was removed from the vehicle. The officer conducted his investigation and found that the subject, who did not have a concealed pistol license, had just bought the gun from a “friend” for one hundred dollars. The officer investigated and determined that the male was not intoxicated. The handgun was placed into evidence.
