#2021-046849/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 0058 hours while on routine patrol, officers ran a license plate on a vehicle that returned stolen. Officers initiated a high risk stop and took the sole occupant into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle. Search incident to arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a small amount of heroin and methamphetamine. The victim who reported the vehicle stolen had given consent to search the vehicle upon recovery. While searching the vehicle a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.

#2021-046883/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 0323 hours, Third and First Watch officers responded to the Yesler neighborhood to a stabbing near a tent encampment. The victim was located, conscious and alert at the scene and named the involved suspect. K-9 responded to the scene. While on containment and alert, Third Watch officer located the suspect in a stairwell near his containment location. The suspect was arrested. Injuries to the victim were not life-threatening.

#2021-46958/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 0634 hours, a male parked his work truck at the Chevron Gas Station located at the 7100 BLK of Delridge Wy SW. The victim left the vehicle running, and the suspect walked up to his truck and took it without consent. Officers initially checked the area for the truck, but it wasn’t located. South PCT officers checked the area where the truck appeared to be tracking, and located the truck occupied. The occupants complied and they were detained. The victim positively identified the male who stole his truck, and he was placed in custody. The other occupant was released from the scene. The suspect arrested also had a felony warrant for possession of stolen vehicle. Detectives responded to the SW PCT to interview the suspect who will be booked for auto theft and his felony warrant.

#2021-47438/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 1457 hours, a motorcycle officer was working in the 2700 block of Airport Way S. The officer pulled out of his position on the east curb and was struck by a vehicle traveling N/B in lane number two. A broadcast went out for assistance and multiple units arrived. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Medic One for medical care. The scene was processed to include a Drug Recognition Expert screening of the other involved driver. The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad was notified of the incident.

#2021-47534/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 1631 hours, officers responded to a 911 call from a residence near Renton Av S/ S Orcas St. The reporting party said his high-risk family member was turning over furniture and threatening to burn down the house. The caller further updated that the subject was experiencing some type of mental crisis and that he wanted him removed. When officers arrived, the subject was extremely agitated and retreated into a bedroom while grabbing something in his waist band and stating he had a firearm and “it was going to be suicide by cop.” Officers quickly evacuated the residents from the household and took up a position of cover/containment while attempting to establish communications. Non-lethal and arrest teams were established, and a hostage negotiator was requested. SWAT was screened. After numerous attempts to hail the subject with the public address system, he finally exited the residence and surrendered without incident. It should be noted that during the incident the subject lit a firecracker in an apparent attempt to bait the officers to enter the residence. There was also a hostile group that lived next door who insisted on being in the scene and recording the officers. No firearm was recovered, and the subject was sent to the hospital.

#2021-047675/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-25-2021 at 1954 hours, suspect #2 entered a store about 5 minutes prior to suspect #1. #2 was speaking to an employee when #1 interrupted their conversation, asking for assistance with a phone. The employee told #1 to wait, as he was helping #2. #2 told the employee that it was ok, they were together. #1 asked to see a phone and some other items. The employee got the items and phone from the back and was showing them to #1 when he suddenly grabbed them and started towards the door. The employee cut him off and told him to return the items. Suspect #1 said “I have a gun, I’ll fucking shoot you.” The employee told him that he didn’t believe that he had a gun. Suspect #1 pulled out a black semi-auto, pointed it at the employee and said, “I’ll fucking shoot you.” The employee backed off and the suspect ran outside and left in a silver SUV. Suspect #1’s hat fell off when he was leaving. Robbery Unit Detectives responded and took statements and processed the scene.
