#2021-53294/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-04-2021 at 0253 hours, a male had just returned to his residence from walking his dog. An unknown assailant walked into his house demanding to know where someone who doesn’t live there was. A verbal altercation ensued. The suspect then left but not before stabbing the resident one time in the back. The suspect left on foot and was not located after an area check was conducted. Victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medic One with serious but non-life-threatening injury.
#2021-053426/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-04-2021 at 0651 hours, the original incident was a shoplift of 4 cases of beer. Subject was observed by employees and uniformed security officer. Upon being stopped outside the store, subject resisted arrest and attempted to use an aluminum meat tenderizer mallet to assault the uniformed security guard. Security controlled the suspect’s weapon arm, struggled with the suspect, eventually disarming him and using the mallet to fend off the suspect. Suspect paced the parking lot upon officers arriving. Suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Investigation lead to booking for Robbery post treatment at Harborview Medical Center for injuries from the physical encounter with security. Security officer’s left hand also injured during the encounter.
#2021-146791/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-04-2021 Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives, SPD K-9 and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force located a suspect wanted for a $100,000 UPFA Warrant in the 5500 block of Chicago Ave SW in Lakewood. The warrant was related to a shootout under SPD case 2020-146791. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. A vehicle associated with the suspect was impounded from the scene to the SPD Vehicle Processing Room. A search warrant is pending.
