#2021-056056/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-07-2021 at 0020 hours, two separate calls came in of 30-50 vehicles engaged in street racing and or reckless driving see 21-56031 and 21-49568 in reference. In one of the events, an unknown white Chevy Camaro with a black hood struck a pedestrian and fled the scene causing unknown injuries. At 0020 hours East Precinct received a 911 call that the group of cars had entered the PCT and were observed doing donuts in the intersection of 10 Av E and E John St. East cars converged on the group and using coordinated tactics to split the group, sending them in opposite directions, one group Northbound I-5, the other group Southbound I-5. Officers maintained visual on one vehicle that displayed particularly reckless driving patterns. Officers followed the vehicle and with appropriate back up conducted a traffic stop. The driver appeared highly impacted by his use of marijuana, as was his juvenile passenger. The driver was processed and booked into the King County Jail for DUI and reckless driving. The juvenile was processed at the precinct and released to an adult.

#2021-56211/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-07-2021 at 0646 hours, officers responded to a report of a female possibly overdosing. Officers arrived to find the subject on the sidewalk and her husband with her. The security officer of a nearby business reported details to officers that led to the husband’s arrest for harassment and an illegal knife. The suspect tried to run and resisted arrest, resulting in a Type 2 Use of Force. Later at the precinct, the suspect was led into the sally-port to be transported to the jail. The suspect attempted to run away and had to be caught again. While being placed in the backseat of the patrol vehicle, the subject claimed their wrist was dislocated. The subject was taken to Harborview Medical Center and the Force Investigation Team was contacted. After some time, medical staff determined that there were no breaks or fractures to the wrist. It was determined that the second incident would also be handled as a Type 2. The suspect was booked into jail.

#2021-56294/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-07-2021 at 0905 hours, the occupant of a white SUV wearing a yellow jacket shot five rifle rounds into an apartment building at the SE corner of NE 127 ST and Greenwood AVE NE. The residents were sleeping on the couch. The rounds shattered the glass sliding door and struck the wall. The rounds penetrated through multiple walls through the hallway into a second unit. No injuries.

#2021-56577/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-07-2021 at 1710 hours, a male victim stated he was standing outside his silver, 2019, Honda, Civic near MLK Jr Wy S/ S Othello St. He said he was approached by a male with a gun. The suspect motioned for another male to come join him and they stole the victim’s car. As they were leaving, they were being followed by a silver Camry that may have been involved. Officers conducted an extensive area check and searched for witnesses and evidence.
