#2021-091415/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 04-15-2021 at 1814 hours, officers responded to a report of multiple shots heard, near the intersection of Rainier Ave S / Seward Park Ave S. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting in the roadway. Officers also located bullet damage to three vehicles and a nearby apartment building. Based on their investigation, one or two suspects fired from a moving vehicle, towards another moving vehicle. Area check was negative for the suspect vehicle. At the time of this report, there were no known injuries. Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded and assisted with processing the scene. GVRU will handle follow up responsibilities.
#2021-091427/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 04-15-2021 at 1827 hours, a third party called 911 to report a suspicious circumstance in which two people (male and female) were following an older woman and they appeared to be in an argument. Someone shouted, “call the police.” The older woman got into a car and left. No one involved called 911. The original caller called back to 911 angry that the police had not yet arrived and claimed she would be calling Chief Diaz directly. This turned out to be true and she did call the Chief. Officers arrived and found that the older woman’s home had been burglarized by her adult son and his new girlfriend. Jewelry was taken with an estimated value of approx. $20,000.00. The victim was terrified of her son as he had threatened to kill her, and she believed him. Later, the suspects returned, 911 was called, officers flooded the area, and the suspects were apprehended. All the property was recovered. The suspects were booked into the King County Jail for Burglary and Harassment.
#2021-091584/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 04-15-2021 at 2209 hours, multiple callers called 911 reporting shots fired at Seward Park. One caller saw the shooter from their boat which was north of the main parking lot. It appeared the suspect fired the rounds into the air. Officer responded and found evidence of a shooting. No victims were located, and no property damaged. There was no suspect description. No suspects were located. The scene was processed by patrol.
