#2021-123404/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 05-20-2021 at 0751 hours, two vehicles were observed by witnesses facing westbound on S Spokane St at the red light. Suspect pulled up at an angle in the left turn lane. The two exchanged some words when suspect in the Mercedes fired one shot at victim vehicle shattering out the back window. Suspect then ran the red light, made a left turn fleeing south on Beacon Ave S. Victim left in an unknown direction and called 911. Victim refused to return to speak to officers. Area check for the suspect vehicle was negative. Broken glass located. Officers processed the scene, a report completed, and no other information was able to be obtained due to all parties not staying or returning to the scene.

#2021-123605/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-20-2021 at 1233 hours, officers responded to the Morrison Hotel after suspect threw things and spit on staff. They advised that the suspect had an open DCR detainer for ITA, which the officers verified. They coordinated with staff to have the suspect exit his apartment so they could detain him in a common area. When they attempted to escort him to lobby, the suspect suddenly punched the head of an officer and backed away. The officers called for more officers, resulting in a “Help the Officer” alert. The suspect continued to posture aggressively as they continued verbal de-escalation efforts. When more officers arrived, the suspect allowed himself to be handcuffed and arrested without further incident. The victim officer was driven to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation of a minor head injury. Suspect was booked into the King County Jail for felony assault.

#2021-123993/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-20-2021 at 2030 hours, officers responded to a call of a subject who had been trespassed attempting to steal a tip jar. Officers located the subject in the area. They were able to detain him after he fled on foot initially (they followed in vehicles). While they were attempting to place him in the back of the vehicle the subject kicked an officer in the chest causing no pain or injury. Later while being transported VIA AMR the subject complained of handcuff discomfort. A handcuff discomfort report was completed along with a hazard report.

#2021-124008/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-20-2021 at 2044 hours, officers on violent crimes emphasis located a wanted armed and dangerous suspect / suspect vehicle that had been involved in a bank robbery, armed robbery, occupied burglary, and had a felony burglary / DUI warrant for his arrest. The suspect failed to stop and eluded officers, which resulted in a collision incident involving the suspect vehicle and two civilian vehicles. Officers were able to safely take the suspect into custody and only minor injuries occurred from the collision. The suspect vehicle was impounded to the SPD processing room pending a search warrant. A firearm with an extended magazine was visible on the floorboard of the vehicle. Patrol units processed the collision scene and collected evidence which was submitted. SPD Robbery Unit / FBI Task Force responded to Harborview Medical Center to interview the suspect. Officer determined this suspect was escalating in behavior and posed a serious risk to the public if not apprehended.
