#2021-137692/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-04-2021 at 0614 hours, an SUV lost control while driving southbound on E Marginal Way South and collided with an SDOT power pole. The collision severed the pole, resulting the in the closure of E Marginal Way South for several hours. Driver of vehicle was uninjured. Numerous resources were utilized to re-route traffic and repair the damage.

#2021-137996/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-04-2021 at 1254 hours, an on-duty Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) driving a PEO scooter was heading eastbound on E Denny Way, approaching Broadway E. The PEO stopped for traffic mid-block behind stopped vehicles, waiting for a red traffic signal. A westbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee unexpectedly veered into the eastbound lane, striking the stopped PEO scooter. The impact caused the PEO scooter to strike a parked, unoccupied vehicle next to the curb. The PEO was injured and was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The 54-year-old male Jeep driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested for Investigation of Vehicular Assault. The scene was held, and the SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded. At the conclusion of the scene investigation, it was learned the PEO’s injuries did not rise to felony-level. The Jeep driver was processed for DUI and was expected to be booked into the King County Jail.
