Police Seize Five Firearms Following Crisis Call, Arrest Man For Earlier Drive-By Shooting

Police seized five firearms and arrested a 52-year-old man Monday evening, hours after he opened fire on a South Seattle home.

Around 4:45 PM, a man in a green sedan pulled up in the 8300 block of Renton Avenue South and opened fire from his car, striking a home and three other vehicles. The driver then fled. No one was injured in the incident.

About five hours later, officers were called to an incident involving an armed man in crisis in the 9800 block of 59th Avenue South. During the response to the home, officers determined the man was the suspect from the earlier shooting. 

Police seized his green sedan and five firearms and booked the 52-year-old man into the King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting.
