#2021-173001/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 0016 hours, a local prostitute was working on Aurora when she was picked up by a potential male customer. The male drove her around the block and then demanded her money while displaying a gun. The female attempted to jump out of the car and a struggle ensued. The female produced her own handgun to protect herself as she exited the car. The male fired multiple rounds at the female and the female fired a round while fleeing to a local home and yelling for someone to call 911. Patrol and a Gun Violence Reduction Unit detective arrived shortly after the incident. A stray round struck a nearby apartment complex and the bullet was lodged in the drywall of one of the units. The female’s gun was seized for evidence and evidence was also recovered in the street. The male suspect and his vehicle are outstanding.

#2021-173075/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 0310 hours, a former client of a hotel-based shelter program returned to the 2000 block of 5 Av. When the suspect was turned away by his former outreach coordinator, he became irate and shot the outreach coordinator in the foot as he drove away. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Evidence located on scene. The identified male suspect and his vehicle are outstanding. Screened with Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives.

#2021-173068/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 0324 hours, a male victim made a cash withdrawal ($200) from the Bank ATM at Broadway Av/E. John St. The victim then walked w/b to Harvard Av, and turned left on to s/b Harvard Av. The victim then noticed the suspect vehicle approach him at a high rate of speed and also came from Harvard E/E John st. Two suspects exited the suspect vehicle and approached the victim demanding the money, then also his cell phone and wallet w/driver’s license. One suspect was described as a male in his 20’s and the other suspect was also a male in his 20’s both approximately 6′. One suspect pointed a firearm described as an “Uzi”. The suspects jumped back into the suspect vehicle (early 2000’s boxy black or dark blue sedan w/tinted windows) last seen w/b on E. Denny Wy.

#2021-173106/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 0709 hours, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1600 Block of 2nd Av. Officers arrived, located the victim with a puncture wound to his abdomen. The victim related that an unknown individual, likely in crisis, stabbed him for no apparent reason in the vicinity of 1 Av and Cherry St. The victim was treated by Seattle Fire on scene and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An area check was conducted with negative results.

#2021-173358/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 1138 hours a suspect was arrested for being in possession of a stolen ORV that was taken from Children’s Hospital. He was taken into custody without incident but later slipped his handcuffs to the front of his body. When officers removed one of the suspect’s hands from the cuffs, he became combative, biting and kicking officers. Officers were eventually able to regain control of the suspect. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for Auto Theft and Assault 3. A Type 2 Use of Force investigation was completed. Incident screened through FIT.

#2021-173449/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 07-09-2021 at 1329 hours, officers responded to a robbery call where a male and female entered a hardware store located at 4747 44 AV SW and attempted to steal over 100 hundred dollars in merchandise. When staff attempted to stop them at the door of the business, the male stated, while implying he had a handgun, he was not going back to prison and told staff hew would shoot them. The female used an ax she was attempting to shoplift as a weapon by waving it in the direction of store staff. Both subjects fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. The same suspects were then later located inside the Safeway in the Admiral district. They were stopped and detained outside as they were shoplifting alcohol. Once a show up was complete, the suspects were booked into King County Jail without incident for Robbery and Organized Retail Theft (21-173490).
