Seattle police arrested a 39-year-old man next to Interstate 90 this morning after he reportedly threw numerous items into the road.
Around 7:15 AM, Seattle police responded to the Rainier Avenue South on-ramp to eastbound I-90 after witness called 911 and reported a man had thrown objects into the road. At least one motorist had pulled over after an object struck their vehicle.
Witnesses directed police to a 39-year-old man in a nearby encampment. Officers arrested the man, who appeared to be experiencing a crisis. He was transported by private ambulance to an area hospital for an evaluation.
SPD continues to work closely with the Washington State Patrol to address roadway safety issues along interstates in Seattle.
