#2021-186142/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-22-2021 at 0100 hours, a male victim was in his vehicle outside his apartment building in the 400 block of Broadway. Victim exited his vehicle to enter his building and was approached by two males who threatened to hang him and called him a racial slur. Victim did not engage with the suspects and entered his building. A short time later the victim went outside and saw that his passenger rear tire of his car had been slashed. The victim did not see if the men who threatened him damaged his vehicle. The victim feels like he was targeted due to his race. Alert notifications sent.
#2021-186381/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-22-2021 at 0912 hours, officers were dispatched to an assault in which an elderly person was shoved to the ground at 2 Ave and James St. The suspect description matched that of a person who earlier attempted to stab a MID ambassador. The suspect was located at the 7-11 on 3 Ave and Marion St. Officers conducted a contact team, entered the store, and contacted the suspect. He refused to comply, and a 40 MM was deployed. The suspect was taken into custody. The elderly victim sustained a broken arm as a result of the assault. The suspect was booked for Felony Assault. He was transported to the King County Jail and is currently at Harborview Medical Center.
#2021-186548/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-22-2021 at 1230 hours, officers responded to a call of indecent exposure near Occidental Park where families and tourists were enjoying the park. Officers arrived in the area and the victim pointed towards the suspect who was inside the park. Officers contacted the suspect and placed him in a seated position. While interviewing the suspect, the suspect jumped up, clenched his fists, and threatened to assault the primary officer. Officers took control of the suspect and placed him under arrest. The suspect was found to have threats to law enforcement and was DOC active for assault 3. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of intimating a public servant and indecent exposure.
#2021-186759/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-22-2021 at 1523 hours, a witness called 911 to report an in-progress theft of a neighbor’s catalytic converter. The suspect and vehicle description were provided to 911. Further updates gave a last known direction of travel as the suspect fled the scene. A responding officer located the possible suspect vehicle leaving the area, and the vehicle and driver matched the provided descriptions. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was detained. Officers contacted the witness for further details and located the victim vehicle. The catalytic converter had been cut out and was missing. During the investigation, probable cause was established, and the driver was taken into custody for theft. Search incident to the arrest, narcotics were located on his person. The driver was booked into the King County Jail. The suspect vehicle contained evidence of the crime and was impounded for processing. Major Crimes was contacted and will conduct the follow-up investigation.
#2021-186940/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-22-2021 at 1913 hours, officers responded to the 200 block of 31 Ave S to investigate a possible shooting in the area. Officers checked the area and were able to locate a victim of property damage. The victim stated that they heard approximately 5 shots come from a local park and noticed that their kitchen window was broken. Officers recovered evidence of a shooting in the victim’s wall. No other evidence was located.
