#2021-188360/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-24-2021 at 0200 hours, officers were managing the large crowds who were leaving the Pioneer Square nightclubs. A crowd had gathered in the street at 2 Avenue South and South Washington Street after bar closing. Vehicles had taken over the intersection and many persons were dancing in the street. Officers were out on foot addressing the resulting traffic hazard and attempting to get drivers to clear the roadway. One officer approached a vehicle which was occupied by four persons, including the driver. The driver, who was causing a road hazard, was found to have a handgun in his lap. The officer requested backing units and gave verbal instructions to the driver to not grab the handgun. The driver pushed the handgun out of his lap and fled on foot. The driver escaped before other units could arrive. The other occupants were compliant during the high-risk vehicle stop. No community members or officers were injured during this incident and the handgun was recovered.
#2021-188432/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-24-2021 at 0503 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Western Av for an initial report of 7 people fighting, call was updated with reports of shots fired, possible victim. Officers arrived within two minutes of the report. No victim located, no suspect description and witness said possible associated vehicles left the area. Officers located evidence of a shooting, but no damage was located. Scene processed by Patrol.
#2021-188437/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-24-2021 at 0525 hours, officers observed a car fire in the 2600 block of 42nd Ave SW. Seattle Fire responded. The victim was on scene. It appeared someone broke out a passenger window and set the vehicle on fire. Fire Marshal responded. SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad was notified.
#2021-189024/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-24-2021 at 1811 hours, officers responded to 48 Av S/ S Cloverdale St to a report of shots being heard. Arriving officers found evidence of a shooting in the roadway. There were no victims at the scene or property damage. A witness working in his yard stated he heard the shots and saw what appeared to be two vehicles chasing each other. Evidence was collected.

On 07-24-2021 at 2355 hours, officers were flagged down in the area of 200 South Main St by a victim reporting they had been threatened with a firearm. The suspects were in a parked car nearby. Officers established that a crime had been committed and called for additional units. A contact team was assembled, and a High-Risk Vehicle Stop was conducted. The two suspects in the car failed to comply with commands. The primary suspect fled on foot, eventually climbing atop the King Street train station roof then jumping to the tracks below. He was captured hiding on the railroad tracks without further incident. The second suspect was arrested at the original location. No officers were injured during this incident. The suspect vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant to recover the firearm evidence.
