#2021-243408/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-16-2021 at 0516 hours, a victim was confronted by several suspects near 4 Ave / Pine St, who stated they wanted to do a “coat exchange”. The victim refused and the suspects knocked him to the ground and began kicking him. One suspect forcefully removed the victim’s shoes while another suspect forcefully removed the victim’s jacket, which also contained his phone. Officers quickly arrived in the area and located the suspect wearing the victim’s jacket while riding a bicycle. This suspect attempted to flee officers on the bicycle but decided to drop the bike after a couple of blocks and attempted to flee on foot. Officers apprehended the suspect and placed him in custody. The victim’s jacket and phone were returned to him, and he positively identified the suspect as the same person who forcefully removed his jacket during the robbery. After a brief stay in the hospital after claiming he swallowed fentanyl, suspect was booked for Robbery and a DOC warrant.
#2021-243551/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-16-2021 at (time not included) officers responded to a suspicious death at a recycling center. The unknown male was picked up on a garbage route and delivered to the recycling center early this morning. He was subsequently located on the sorting conveyor belt by employees.
#2021-243814/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-16-2021 at 1334 hours, officers responded to a trespass call located at 4233 SW Alaska St. Upon arrival the officers were informed that a female subject entered the coffee shop and wanted to return a coffee mug without a receipt. When an employee told her, he cannot complete the return without a receipt the subject became angry and began yelling at him and other staff members. The caller stated at one point, the suspect was yelling about privilege and started asking making derogatory remarks about an employee’s sexuality. The subject then exited the coffee shop and began yelling at the victims who were customers in the patio area. The female victim said the suspect looked at her and said “what are you looking at, bitch? I’m gonna cut you!” The suspect followed that threat up by then threatening to cut the male victim’s throat. Both victims said they felt like the suspect was specifically targeting them for their race. They said they feared for their safety and believed the suspect was going to carry out her threats of harm. An area check was conducted but the suspect was gone on arrival.
#2021-243984/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-16-2021 at 1632 hours, an apartment building manager called 9-1-1 after seeing a man walking through an encampment carrying a handgun. Officers arrived, formed a contact team, and searched the camp. The gunman was not located and no one in the camp claimed to have seen anything. The apartment manager showed officers evidence that clearly showed a man holding a handgun in his hand while walking through the encampment. No suspect was located. No injuries reported.
#2021-244226/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-16-2021 at 2115 hours, officers responded to the 9200 BLK Rainier Av S. regarding shots heard. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting in the street. No witness and no suspect description. Officers processed the scene. The report will forward to Gun Violence Reduction Unit.
