#2022-005364/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 0830 hours, officers received an ALPR return for a stolen 2003 Audi A4. Officers followed the vehicle and attempted a high risk stop. After the initial stop, the driver put the car back in drive and sped away. Officers did not pursue. Through their investigation, officers later tracked the vehicle to the 100 block of 20 AV E, where they located and apprehended the suspect for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Major Crimes Task Force responded and will be conducting the follow-up investigation.

#2022-005573/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 1316 hours, officers were dispatched to a mudslide in the Magnolia area. The mudslide struck the side of a residence and collapsed the top level of the home onto a lower level. The residents were pinned inside of the house and Seattle Fire was able to remove the individuals from the residence. The homeowners sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. City Engineers were dispatched to survey the scene for other possible structural issues. Barricades have been placed around the residence to lessen vehicle and pedestrian traffic until the structure can be full evaluated. The incident was screened by Lt.

#2022-331098/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 1915 hours, officers worked to locate a suspect wanted by detectives for Assault-2. Officers’ resources confirmed the suspect was present at the listed address and created a plan to take him into custody. Officers were able to contact the suspect, but he refused to exit his residence. Officers began working on a search warrant while other officers engaged in a dialogue with the suspect, and he was convinced to surrender to officers and taken into custody without incident. The suspect was booked into King County Jail and the case detective was contacted.

#2022-005929/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 2103 hours, a male victim was inside his house when he heard a string of shots in the area but did not call 911. About 15 minutes later, the victim went outside and found several bullet holes on his White Prius. There was no suspect information. Officers responded to the scene and located evidence of a shooting on the ground. Patrol processed the scene. Gun Violence Reduction Unit detective was advised.

#2022-005999/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 2222 hours, officers responded with Seattle Fire to a fire in a vacant building in the 1500 block of 2 Av. A fire was located inside the building resulting in a significant SFD response. SPD assisted by setting a traffic perimeter encompassing approximately four blocks in the downtown core. Fire Marshal responded and determined that the cause of the fire was undetermined but likely set by someone in the doorway alcove. Fire Marshal advised SPD’s Arson Bomb Squad.

#2022-005987/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-07-2022 at 2230 hours, officers responded to a 911 call of a suspect syphoning gas. Suspect was subsequently contacted (in a stolen vehicle) and probable cause was developed for arrest. Suspect resisted arrest resulting in Type II Use of Force.
