#20221-013315/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 0007 hours, officers responded to Wabash Av S and S Cloverdale St to investigate a shot heard incident. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting in the middle of the street. There were no victims, no damage, no witness, and no suspect info. Officers processed the scene. The report will be forwarded to Gun Violence Reduction Unit.

#2022-013390/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 0358 hours, a male was prowling a car. The Registered Owner (RO) and two family members came out and confronted him. The suspect’s female accomplice got into the driver’s seat of the get-away vehicle. One family member attempted to prevent her from starting the car. After getting the vehicle started and the male suspect getting in, the female drove off with all 3 family members still entangled with the suspects and car. All 3 were dragged by the vehicle. After getting loose, one victim shot at the get-away vehicle twice. Suspects are at large, one victim went to the hospital, the other two were treated at the scene. Homicide notified.

#2022-013412/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 0504 hours, a female suspect broke into a building in 800 block of 4 Av and proceeded to damage multiple items throughout the first floor while ransacking the offices and common areas. She had attempted a makeshift barricade of the front doors using furniture from the lobby. Officers were unsure if the suspect was still inside, but eventually located her in an office area after being let in by staff. An item of high value (book of bylaws from 1890) was not located at time of report despite extensive searching by officers. No other items appear to be missing. Several photos were taken, and other evidence was provided by responding staff. Female appeared high on narcotics and was booked for burglary.

#2022-013700/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 1412 hours, officers responded to a robbery of a coffee shop. The suspect passed a note to the barista stating he had a gun. Officers monitoring the MLK march located a possible suspect and kept eyes on while a field show up was conducted. The victim was unable to positively ID the suspect, the subject in the march was never detained. No gun was observed during the robbery.

#2022-013706/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 1428 hours, officers responded to an encampment near 8th Avenue S and King Street reference a shooting. Upon arrival, officer located the victim with a graze/impact gunshot wound on his lower abdomen area. Officers learned the victim was inside his tent and there was a previous verbal altercation with the unknown suspect over drugs. The suspect left the tent and returned a short time later and opened the flap to the victim’s tent and told the victim, “Give me all your money!” The victim refused and the suspect again demanded the victim give him his money. When the victim refused, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired at least one round, which grazed the victim in the lower abdomen. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for further medical evaluation and treatment. The scene was processed, and evidence of a shooting was recovered inside the tent. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified. PIO was advised and responded as media was on scene.

#2022-014075/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-17-2022 at 2341 hours, neighbors in the 4700 block of SW Charlestown called to report shots fired from a vehicle after a loud argument. When officers arrived, they located evidence of a shooting in front of an apartment building in the area. A female in the building was contacted who reported a burglary and hinted that her boyfriend may have fired his weapon while confronting the suspects who were driving a Gold or Silver Subaru Forrester with tinted windows. However, her story changed repeatedly, she admitted lying initially to officers, and her boyfriend had fled the scene in a White BMW prior to officers’ arrival. Gun Violence Reduction Unit notified.
