#2022-070838/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-22-2022 at 0011 hours, a victim reported that a known suspect drove up to his residence and shot his vehicles that were parked in his driveway. Officers located additional bullet damage to the victim’s house. A witness reported seeing the suspect drive up to the victim’s house, fire several shots, and then the victim came to the door and returned fire. Officers initially only located evidence of a shooting near the victim’s front door and suspected that the remaining evidence had been cleaned up. After some investigating, officers determined that the victim was a convicted felon. Upon presenting the victim with this information he admitted to being in possession of a firearm and gave officers consent to recover the firearm from his residence. He also advised that the remaining evidence was in his garbage can. Officers recovered a 9mm pistol and shotgun from the victim’s residence as well as the remaining evidence of a shooting in the victim’s trash. The drive-by shooting suspect was later located by Mason CO Sheriff’s Deputies and taken into custody. His vehicle was seized and had bullet damage to the windshield. SPD met Mason CO deputies and took custody of the suspect and booked him into King County Jail for Assault 1, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. A search warrant for the suspect’s vehicle is being completed. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified of this incident and will follow up with possible charges for both the victim and suspect.

#2022-070905/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-22-2022 at 0222 hours, a victim was approached on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of E John St by 2 unknown suspects. One displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s phone. When the victim could not produce a phone one of the suspects stabbed the victim in the head and the side causing significant injury / loss of blood. Seattle Fire medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for further emergent treatment. Containment was set in place for a K9 track, however the high number of fire personnel required made the starting point non-trackable. Suspects remain at large at the time of this SIR.

#2022-071241/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-22-2022 at 1117 hours, officers responded to a middle school in the Rainier Valley after the administration staff received a series of threats directed at the school from what seemed to be the same subject. The investigation revealed the phone involved belonged to a student at the school. That student and one possible accomplice were called in along with their parents and the students were suspended after being interviewed by school staff. The incident was documented for review.

#2022-071723/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-22-2022 at 2101 hours, officers responded to a reported armed robbery of a business in the area of 35 Av Sw/Sw Barton St. The first responding officers arrived and noticed witnesses pointing at a suspect, saying he was the guy with the gun. Officers detained the suspect. The store clerk claimed to have recovered a gun during the incident. The suspect was a convicted felon and placed into custody for suspicion of robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
