#2022-071883/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 0038 hours, radio received multiple reports of between 20-50 shots fired in the area of the 100 block of Lakeside Av S. Officers responded and located a scene with a significant evidence of a shooting. Patrol processed the scene. At the time of this SIR, no victims were known.

#2022-071916/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 0149 hours, officers responded to a carjacking. The victim stated that a suspect pointed a gun at her, demanded $1500, and stole the vehicle she was in. An area check was negative. Robbery advised.

#2022-072175/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 1022 hours, a motorcyclist was travelling southbound in the 4300 block of 4 Av S when a vehicle initiated a left turn (east to north) in front of him. The vehicle, an older Nissan Pathfinder, left the scene without checking the welfare of the motorcyclist or providing identifying information. The motorcyclist, a 64-year-old male, suffered a severe leg injury; he was transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medic One. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned two blocks away from the collision scene. The driver is outstanding. TCIS Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

#2022-072285/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 1233 hours, officers were dispatched to the 10700 blk of 2 AV NW for an assault call. Location is an assisted living facility for individuals suffering from mental health related issues. Staff reported that one of the residents was in the admin office assaulting staff. When officers arrived, suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the precinct. At the precinct, the suspect’s pants were falling and requested them to be pulled up. When an officer pulled up the pants, suspect attempted to stomp on the officer’s foot. Officer moved his foot before suspect could strike it. Before being sat down, suspect spat on the same officer hitting him in the chest area. A spit sock was applied, and the suspect discontinued his assaultive behavior. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault. Hazard report was completed and attached to suspect’s name.

#2022-007380/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 1417 hours, officers responded to the area of Rainier and S Bayview for reports of a subject assaulting several people and striking cars. Upon officers’ arrival, the suspect was uncooperative requiring multiple officers to take him into custody. The subject admitted to mental health issues and drug use. The suspect was booked for Assault and Property Damage. A Type-2 Use of Force was involved.

#2022-072406/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 1455 hours, witnesses reported that a male victim was being beaten by another male outside the Goodwill. The suspect was yelling that he was going to kill the victim while striking him with a baton and attempting to gouge at his eyes. A witness eventually stepped in and pulled the suspect off the victim. The suspect ran southbound from the scene. Containment was established and a k9 track was attempted with negative results. The victim sustained multiple hits from the baton to the face, head, and arm. Seattle Fire responded and tended to the victim’s injuries that were deemed non-life threatening on scene. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center via AMR. The incident was screened with Homicide.

#2022-072575/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 1817 hours, officers working the 3rd Ave emphasis on-viewed a narcotics violation. While detaining the suspect to conduct an investigation, the suspect attempted to assault the officers. A taser deployment was necessary to take the suspect into custody. One officer sustained a minor injury.

#2022-072760/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 2208 hours, officers responded to the vicinity of W Galer St & 29th Ave W regarding the report of a subject in crisis. The subject fled the residence, and was later contacted several blocks away, walking toward the Magnolia Bridge. Upon spotting officers, the subject refused to stop, and began running toward the bridge. Officers detained the subject, at which time he assaulted an officer, resulting in a Type II Use of Force. Subject was booked for Investigation of Assault.

#2022-072798/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-23-2022 at 2303 hours, two suspects entered a business. One suspect went behind the counter and demanded the money from the till while the second suspect pointed two handguns at the victim. The cash from the till was taken as well as some product from behind the counter. Det. assigned the follow-up.
