#2022-085666/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 04-06-2022 at 1527 hours, officers responded to an attempted kidnapping that took place on a walking path between Hamilton International School and Wallingford Playfield. The address is in the 1600 block of N. 42nd St/Densmore Av N. A twelve-year-old female victim reported that she was walking back to the school with a friend after visiting a nearby store. The victim and her friend went separate ways once they returned to the school. The victim entered a walkway between the school and playfield. As she walked down the path an unknown male suspect walked up behind her and asked her if she wanted a ride home. The victim said no and kept walking. Suddenly the male grabbed the victim by placing one hand over her mouth and an arm around her waist as if to pick her up. The victim elbowed the male suspect in the groin as hard as she could, which led him to release her. The victim ran back to where her friend was and was able to get a ride home, where she called police. The victim did not get a good look at the suspect but did recall a black two door sedan circling the area as she and her friend were walking to and from the store. A homicide detective was contacted and screened this incident.

#2022-085753/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 04-06-2022 at 1721 hours, three male suspects entered a jewelry store around 1700hrs located in the 4500 block of California AV SW. All three suspects were armed with firearms and forced the employees to lay face down on the ground. The suspects then forced the employees to take money from the cash registers and a back room safe. Before the suspects left, they also smashed several jewelry display cases and took several jewelry items. It was estimated the suspect stole twelve thousand dollars in cash and additional jewelry. All three suspects fled in a black, mid-1990s Honda Accord that was parked nearby. One of the suspects walked with a distinctive limp. Robbery detectives responded to the scene.

#2022-085864/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-06-2022 at 1936 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting call in Seward Park. According to the call, RP ADV SAW MALE SHOOTING A GUN, AT THE UPPER PARK LOOP. Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of a shooting near a picnic structure. No victims, suspects, or witnesses were in the area when officers arrived. Officers conducted a thorough area check and did not locate any victims.

#2022-085771/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 04-06-2022 at 2026 hours, officers were dispatched to a Disturbance/Crisis call in the Beacon Hill Neighborhood. When an officer contacted the suspect, the suspect attacked the officer. While on the ground the suspect attempted to take the officer’s firearm, grabbed the officer’s groin area, and ripped the officer’s badge off. After a brief struggle, the officer was able to gain control of the suspect. Additional officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for the Investigation of Assault 3. A Type 2 Use of Force investigation was conducted. The incident was screened.
