#2022-164115/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 0335 hours, a victim was inside the 7-11 located at the 3200 BLK of SW Avalon WY. While the victim was standing in line an unknown female suspect came inside and cut her while she was standing in line. A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect becoming irate at the victim. The suspect punched the victim in the face. The victim and suspect got in a verbal altercation outside the 7-11, and the suspect punched and kicked the victim. During the assault the victim had her purse stolen. The suspect left in a silver dodge vehicle, which was filling up with gas at the pumps. Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle, but it wasn’t located.

#2022-164306/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 0938 hours, a lone male walked into a local Safeway with his own handcart. The suspect loaded up 11 cases of beer and proceeded to the exit. Security confronted the suspect who told the security officer if he didn’t get away, he would be pepper sprayed. Fearful the suspect would carry out his threat, the security guard backed off and the suspect exited the store without paying. The beer thief was stopped and detained across the street attempting to board a Metro bus. A show-up was conducted and the suspect was arrested and booked into KCJ for the robbery.

#2022-164339/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1038 hours, two suspects walked into the Chase Bank located at the 2900 BLK of SW Barton St. The suspects handed the bank employee a note that requested money and threatened to shoot up the bank if their demands weren’t met. The bank employee gave the suspects cash, and the suspects left the bank and entered a vehicle that was near Roxhill Park. The vehicle left Northbound on 29 Ave SW. Guardian 1 was requested, but it wasn’t available. K9 initially was enroute, but when it was determined that the suspects left in a vehicle they were cancelled. SPD Robbery/FBI task force responded to the scene. Evidence was recovered and witnesses were interviewed. The suspects in this robbery are possibly the same suspects from a Robbery that occurred later at a Chase Bank in Des Moines.

#2022-164408/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1221 hours, officers responded to a suspect threatening someone with a knife. Officers arrived and detained the suspect. During the investigation, they learned the suspect had used bias language towards a victim that had left the scene. An additional victim was located at the scene who was threatened with the knife. The suspect was placed under arrest for Harassment. Type II use of force investigation was initiated.

#2022-164508/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1405 hours, a suspect called Shake Shack to say he put a pipe bomb in their building. Officers responded to the scene. Building evacuated and perimeter cleared around building. Interior, exterior, and roof all searched. Nothing found. Employees stated no disgruntled employees or customers to their recollection. No suspicious behavior by anyone noticed either. No history found by dispatch with the associated suspect phone number. I screened the incident with ABS and nothing further needed. Employees and customers then allowed to return to the business.

#2022-164583/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1526 hours, multiple callers reported an incident of shots fired in the area of 28 AV S/ S Washington ST. Officers arrived and located a scene in the 300 Block of 28 AV S. Officers located the remains of a car window on the ground. In the area around the broken glass, officers located evidence of a shooting. North of this location, more evidence of a shooting was located. Several witnesses indicated two vehicles were involved. No victims were located on scene and no significant property damage was found. GRVU notified.

#2022-164702/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1752 hours, a large group with about 100 people wearing green t-shirts staged a protest. The group commenced the march at Westlake Park and travelled westbound on Pine Street to the Pike Place market. They later exited the market eastbound on Virginia, travelled south on 1st Ave where they blocked all ways of traffic at the intersection of 1st and Pike Street for a short time. The group then travelled east on Pike Street and concluded their protest at Westlake Park at about 1915 hours. The protest was peaceful and without incident.

#2022-164880/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 2137 hours, officers responded to the report of shots fired. While conducting an area check, evidence of a shooting was located in the 1600 block of SW Barton St. Witnesses in the area observed a dark SUV and dark sedan possibly associated with the shooting. No damage was observed or reported. Incident was screened with GVRU, Patrol processed the scene.
