Pedestrian Killed in Sunday Evening Collision on Aurora

Detectives are investigating after a motorist on Aurora Avenue North struck and killed a pedestrian on Sunday evening.

Just before 10:00 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported a collision involving a pedestrian near North 141st Street and Aurora Avenue North. An 80-year-old woman driving north in an SUV struck a 71-year-old woman who was crossing Aurora in an area not designated for pedestrian crossing. Seattle Fire Department medics declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

The driver called 911 to report the collision and remained on scene. An SPD officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert responded to evaluate her and detected no signs of impairment.

Detectives with SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad documented the scene and will continue to investigate.
