On 07-08-2022 at 1238 hours, officers responded to a report of a man stabbing another at Rainier Av S and S King. The male victim in this stabbing incident was walking on Rainier with a female friend when the friend spotted the suspect of the stabbing and became alarmed. The female victim reported to her companion that the unknown suspect had been stalking her for some time and had feloniously assaulted her in December of 2021. This incident was reported to police at the time, but the suspect was unknown to the victim, and he was not identified. The stabbing suspect also spotted the female victim and aggressively approached her and the male she was with. The victims believe the suspect became enraged because he may have assumed the male companion was in a romantic relationship with the female and he then threatened to kill the male victim as he approached. The suspect then produced a knife and slashed it at the male victim, stabbing him in the abdomen. The victim was able to jump back in time to keep the stab wound from going deep. The suspect then ran from the scene into the West Precinct as officers received the 911 call and were responding to the scene. An East officer spotted the suspect making his way through a parking lot several blocks away and reported that he was still armed with the knife. Additional officers joined in and together they cornered the suspect. Officers convinced the suspect to drop the knife and they took him into custody. Seattle Fire arrived to treat the victim and transport him to the hospital. The female victim positively identified the suspect who had stabbed her friend and additionally, as the man who had attacked her in December. The suspect was booked into King County for Investigation of Assault, Investigation of Harassment, and Investigation of Stalking. This incident was screened with Homicide in anticipation for felony assault charges being filed in the December 2021 assault.
