#2022-211015/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-11-2022 at 0808 hours, a suspect, who is a prolific shoplifter, walked inside the Walgreens located at the 6300 BLK of 35 Ave SW. The suspect grabbed approximately $50.00 worth of beer and walked towards the exit doors. The victims told the suspect that he had to pay for the beer. The suspect started cursing at the victims and swung a bottle in the direction of the victims. The suspect exited the store with beer. Later in the morning, an SPD officer who was the primary officer on the robbery, was flagged down by security at Westwood Village located at the 2500 BLK of SW Barton St concerning a felony theft from the Marshalls Store. The officer recognized the suspect from the earlier robbery and placed him in custody for both crimes. The suspect was booked for Robbery and Felony Theft (case# 22-211123). The SPD Robbery Unit was notified.
#2022-211164/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-11-2022 at 0941 hours, an officer responded to a property damage call located at the 3200 BLK of Harbor Ave SW. The officer saw damaged windows and a damaged wall. The officer recovered evidence of a shooting and submitted it.
#2022-211473/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-11-2022 at 1638 hours, a suspect walked up to a teller, demanded cash, and implied that he was armed. After the robbery, the suspect fled the bank on foot. Officers and K913 searched the area for the suspect but we weren’t able to locate him. Lt, PIO, and Robbery Unit were notified. SPD Robbery Unit will handle the follow-up investigation.
