Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times late Tuesday night in the Belltown neighborhood.
Shortly after 10 p.m., a 911 caller said a man had been shot near 3rd Avenue and Bell Street. Officers arrived and found a 53-year-old victim with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and his leg. Officers began first aid measures and then transferred care to Seattle Fire Department medics. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
According to witnesses the suspect fled the area on foot.
Officers recovered evidence at the scene, including two shell casings.
