#2022-239270/West Precinct/Third Watch

At 0326 hours, officers responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of Yesler Way. Officers recovered evidence at the scene. No victims or damage was located.

#2022-239238/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch

At 0138 hours, officers responded to 48th Avenue Southwest and Admiral Way Southwest for a report of a single vehicle collision with a power police. 911 callers reported a loud sound and loss of power and officers found the collision had sheered off a power pole, blocking an arterial. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was arrested and processed for DUI. 

#2022-239316/North Precinct/First Watch

At approximately 0600 hours, the 911 center received multiple reports of a suspect breaking out business windows in the 4700 block of University Way Northeast. When officers arrived, the identified the suspect, who was holding a long piece of rebar. Officers were able to separate the rebar from the suspect—who appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis—and take him into custody. Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail for malicious mischief.

#2022-239317/Southwest Precinct/First Watch

At 0604 hours, employee inside a retailer in the 2600 BLK of SW Barton St called 911 to report that a man had broken into the store and was tampering with a cash register. The employees inside the store headed towards the back of the store. The suspect grabbed some waters and other liquids and exited the store with the stolen items. Officers quickly arrived and placed the suspect in custody for burglary.

#2022-239367/South Precinct/First Watch

At 0743 hours, officers responded to an assist Seattle Fire call in the 1900 block of 22nd Avenue South. The caller advised the occupant of a unit on the 7th floor was in crisis, and that there was possibly a fire in the occupant’s unit. Seattle Fire arrived and confirmed the fire. Seattle Fire stood by until SPD arrived, including a crisis response team officer. Officers contacted the person in crisis, who had burned items on their unit’s stove. Seattle Fire was able to extinguish the fire. Officers had to person in crisis transported to a medical facility for an evaluation. 

#2022-239422/South Precinct/Third Watch

At 0849 officers responded to a report of a theft-turned-robbery at a grocery store in the 2700 block of Beacon Avenue South. The suspect stole various items from the store and left without paying. Several staff members tried to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued. Once outside, staff continued to follow the suspect. The suspect produced a knife and began motioning that he was going to stab staff and began closing the distance on staff. Staff retreated and called 911. Officers conducted an area check and located the suspect. The suspect admitted to stealing items and threatening staff with a knife. The suspect was booked into KCJ for robbery. 

#2022-239971/South Precinct/Second Watch

At 1901 hours, several people called 911 and reported shots fired near 46th Avenue South and South Willow Street. As officers responded to the area, a victim called from the 7200 block of Rainier Avenue South and reported her vehicle had been damaged. The victim was reportedly driving southbound on Rainier when a bullet, likely fired from another vehicle travelling south on Rainier, struck her windshield. No one was injured in the incident.

#2022-240148/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch

At 2218 hours officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block Harbor Av SW. Multiple witnesses stated they observed a vehicle depart southbound on Harbor Ave SW and a possible victim running away northbound. Officers located shell casings in the roadway. No victim was located at the scene.

#2022-240168/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 09-08-2022 at 2246 hours, witnesses reported seeing two suspects assaulting/stabbing a subject on the ground. The suspects then fled the area and entered a nearby apartment complex. One of the suspects barricaded themselves into their unit and SWAT was called to the scene. Eventually, the suspect exited the unit and was taken into custody without incident. The other suspect was not located inside the apartment and is still outstanding.
