#2022-240917/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-09-2022 at 1632 hours, a 911 reported a male was firing a gun in Gas Works Park. Officers arrived and located a male with a significant injury to both of his hands. During the investigation it was determined that the victim located a mortar shell in the bushes by the water and lit it. Once he lit it, the mortar exploded in his hand severing multiple fingers. Seattle Fire transported the male to HMC. Officers checked the area for any other possible unexploded ordnance but did not locate any. SPD’s ABS notified.
#2022-240872/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 09-09-2022 at 1700 hours, officers CRG conducted an arrest operation and a search warrant at the request of Washington State Patrol. The individual apprehended was wanted for on-going threats to kill. Officers safely apprehended the suspect and cleared the residence for WSP follow-up.
