#2022-251342/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-20-2022 at 0621 hours, a witness observed a male chasing another male with a shot gun. The witness heard the shotgun fired twice. No damage was located, no victim either. The witness stated the involved parties left the initial scene in opposite directions. Evidence of a shooting was recovered from the scene. A/LT notified.
#2022-251370/South Precinct/First Watch:
At 0720 hours, officers responded to a Rainier Valley Safeway to investigate a report of a trespass/shoplifter who had just threatened to shoot anyone who tried to stop him. The suspect was in a wheelchair and left the store with about $125 worth of merchandise. During the officers’ investigation, the suspect spat on one of the officers. The suspect was placed in custody but later rejected at KCJ. As a result of not having enough available officers, no hospital guard was possible, so the suspect was released at HMC. A/Lt was notified of this incident.
#2022-251648/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1250 hours there was a demonstration for Unionizing Amazon. The demonstration consisted of around 500 people. The demonstrators marched from the Westin Hotel to Amazon facilities at 7 Av/Blanchard St. During the march, two different demonstrators were struck by vehicles.
#2022-251669/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1312 hours an officer was driving in the area of a demonstration when one of the demonstrators flagged him down. She reported that a black truck drove into the intersection where she and others were standing and tried to pass through. When the demonstrator didn’t move, the driver rolled through the intersection and over her foot. He threatened to kill her as he drove over her foot, before fleeing the scene. Seattle Fire arrived to evaluate the victim. She was transported to the hospital via AMR for further treatment for minor injuries. Officers conducted an area check for the suspect vehicle to no avail. A/Lt. and Sgt. (TCIS) screened this incident.
#2022-251752/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1437, GVRU detectives and the US Marshals conducted an arrest operation in the 5200 block of S. Cloverdale St. The primary suspect was wanted for a warrant out of Lewis County. During the traffic stop of the suspect’s vehicle a passenger ran from the car. He was apprehended a block away with the assistance of responding patrol units. A firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. The primary suspect was booked into KCJ for his warrant and UPFA. The passenger was booked for violation of his federal probation.
