#2022-357317/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 09-26-2022 at 0022 hours, a 15-year-old female was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Golf westbound on N. 50th St at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway where 50th becomes Phinney Ave N. The driver crossed the southbound lane of travel, left the roadway, and struck a townhome located on the west side of Phinney Ave N. The townhome suffered significant damage. The driver was significantly injured in the collision as were her two passengers, who were also juveniles. All were taken to HMC. At the time of this SIR, officers had a search warrant for a blood sample and were attempting to collect it. It was later discovered the juvenile driver took the vehicle without permission.
#2022-257624/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 1022 hours, witnesses called 911 after seeing a victim with a stab wound to his stomach. Officers responded and determined the assault occurred in an encampment near 8th/Yesler. The only information the witness could provide was that they thought the two subjects were fighting near the entrance inside the encampment and the suspect may have taken something from the victim. Additional information was provided about the known suspect. The victim was transported by Seattle Fire to HMC with a punctured lung, 3 stab wounds to his back and a laceration to his thigh. He is expected to recover. A check of the encampment was completed with negative results. Robbery notified.
#2022-257718/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0934 hours, an adult female victim got into an altercation with a restaurant employee who was spraying water on the restaurant parking lot. The victim was driving her car when she says the adult male employee began yelling at her for driving through the parking lot. At one point, the victim told officers that the suspect called her a racist slur and sprayed her with water through her open window. The victim left the parking lot and called police. Officers were able to identify the involved employee, but he was not located as he had left work after this incident. The reporting Sergeant responded to the scene to speak with the victim. This incident is being referred to the SPD Bias Crimes Unit. Restaurant management is conducting their own internal review.
#2022-257782/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1300 hours, a female victim walked into the 7-11 located at 2100 N Northgate Way. She was approached by an unknown male suspect in the store being loud and causing a minor disturbance. The male suspect noticed her presence and made gender-based bias comments to her and demanded she give him her money. The victim ignored the comments and gave no reaction while waiting at the counter. At one point, and without any provocation, the suspect slapped the victim across the face. A male witness stepped in between the suspect and victim. The suspect ignored the male witness and continued to focus on and yell at the female victim. The suspect fled the store shortly after. The victim stated she believes the suspect assaulted her because of her gender. The slap caused pain and injury to the victim’s head and mouth. Responding officers located and arrested the suspect a block away from the store without incident. Notifications were made.
#2022-257819/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1356 hours, construction workers observed a suspect stealing tools from a worker’s truck. Construction workers yelled at the suspect and attempted to run after the suspect to get their tools back. As the suspect was driving away, he stopped, exited, and fired one shot toward a worker. The suspect then got back in the car and left. All workers are ok and unharmed. The incident was screened with GVRU and Robbery.
