Police Arrest Burglar At West Seattle Sporting Goods Store

A burglar used a shopping cart to smash his way into a West Seattle sporting goods store early Tuesday and reportedly pointed a weapon—later discovered to be a pellet rifle—at officers before he was arrested.

At 4:15 AM, police received a report of a burglary at the sporting goods store in the 2600 block of Southwest Barton Street after a man rammed a shopping cart through a window and entered the business. When police contacted the man outside the business, he pointed the rifle at officers and went back inside the store.

The man eventually fled the store carrying a pellet rifle, firearm ammunition, boots, two coats, and a baseball bat. Police arrested the man and recovered the items. Officers booked him into the King County Jail for burglary and assault.
