#2023-038838/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-10-2023 at 0200 hours, officers were dispatched to a threats call with a gun involved in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood. Officers arrived and contacted the victims outside the apartment. Officers established probable cause to arrest a suspect for DV- Assault 2nd. The suspect was inside the apartment alone. Officers contained the apartment and established a contact team. Hostage Negotiation Team arrived. After hailing the suspect from outside the apartment for approximately 1 hour, the suspect exited. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

#2023-038970/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 0722 hours, officers responded to a report of a male hitting a female with a stick. After interviewing the victim, the primary officer recognized the description of the suspect from a previous robbery call (2023-034147) in the same location. Suspect is apparently targeting females appearing to wait for the casino shuttle. Screened with Robbery.

#2023-039092/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 0933 hours, an officer noted a suspicious vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nickerson St with the driver slumped over. The cab of the vehicle was strewn with narcotics paraphernalia. The driver was contacted and was belligerent, refusing to step out of the vehicle. The driver subsequently drove up on to the sidewalk to flee. Officers did not pursue the recklessly driven vehicle as it fled away at a high rate of speed.

#2023-039223/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1202 hours, officers searching for a suspect located him in the 100 block of 14 AV on the sidewalk and detained him. Suspect was handcuffed and was going to be transported by AMR to the jail. While placing the suspect on the gurney, the suspect attempted to bite one of the officer’s ears but wasn’t successful.

#2023-038992/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1230 hours, SPD and multiple partnership agencies conducted a surveillance operation in the 10600 block of 15 Ave SW for a suspect wanted for Assault 1. The suspect came out of his residence shortly before 1230 hours. As task force officers attempted to take him into custody, he fled the area on an e-bike. The suspect was quickly located and arrested near the 9400 block of Delridge Way SW. He was booked into SCORE for a DOC Warrant and for Assault 1 warrant.

#2023-039459/North Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1613 hours, officers responded to the area of NE 64 St and Roosevelt Way Ne, where several high school students had just been pepper spayed at a bus stop. According to victims and witnesses, a known juvenile was in the passenger seat of her mother’s vehicle and asked the victims to come over to the vehicle. When the high school students refused to come to her, the suspect’s mother was said to have driven to their location and slowed down while her daughter intentionally sprayed the victims with pepper spray before driving off. The victims ran to a nearby convenience store where officers found them pouring milk into their eyes to get relief from the irritant. The victims and their parents were provided with incident numbers and urged to notify their nearby high school, which had just closed for the weekend. The matter was documented and routed to the appropriate follow up units.

#2023-039727/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2100 hours, officers responded for an armed carjacking. The victim was working for a food delivery service and the suspect followed him to his car from a nearby restaurant. The suspect demanded the victim’s keys and a short physical altercation ensued. The suspect then pulled a handgun, pistol whipped the victim, and took his keys. The suspect then allowed the victim to retrieve his wallet from the passenger side of the car before fleeing from the scene in the stolen vehicle. The suspect was not located.

#2023-039773/North Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2208 hours, multiple callers reported hearing a loud explosion coming from inside a park. Patrol responded and discovered what was left of a plastic garbage can in the middle of the playfield. ABS was called and responded to the scene. After searching the area, debris left at the scene would suggest consumer fireworks were used to destroy the trash bin. ABS will conduct the follow up.

#2023-039844/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2345 hours, a vehicle was parked in front of a house that was the target of a drive by shooting July 2022 under SPD #22-178357. Tonight, occupants of the home reported they observed a single male in the street shooting directly at the victim vehicle who then ran westbound and fled in a dark colored sedan. Witnesses also reported seeing a single male (no description) running from the scene. A second victim vehicle parked near the primary victim vehicle had sustained a flat tire. No additional damage was located on surrounding homes and an area check was negative for additional victim(s) or possible suspect(s). Officers recovered evidence of a shooting that as suggested more than one shooter was involved in the incident. GVRU notified.
