#2023-043750/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 02-15-2023 at 0015 hours, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the South Park neighborhood. Victims provided the following information: The 2 victims were parked near a public park in the 1000 block of S Elmgrove St when the suspect vehicle pulled in front of their vehicle, blocking them in. The suspect driver leaned out, pointed a handgun, and shot towards the victims, striking the vehicle 3 times. The suspect vehicle began to flee, and the victims started to pursue. The suspect vehicle then moved to re-engage, causing the victims to reevaluate and flee the scene. The victims drove until their vehicle was no longer operable due to damage sustained and waited for police. Officers located the scene of the incident and recovered evidence. Officers checked several associated addresses for the suspect but were unsuccessful at this time. GVRU screened this incident.

#2023-043787/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0112 hours, 911 dispatch received a call from Alabama where the caller advised that a male suspect had called him from his daughter’s phone number stating that he had his daughter hostage and would kill her if he did not send money through Venmo. The daughter’s address was in Seattle. Officers conducted a welfare check on the daughter and her family and they were all OK. It was clear the daughter’s number was spoofed. The incident was screened with Homicide.

#2023-043824/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0318 hours, calls were received reporting a male who fired 5 shots and fled the scene. Officers arrived and spoke with witnesses who reported the following: Occupants of a blue and gold sedan were involved in a disturbance in the parking lot of a gas station. Possible shots were heard, one subject shouted, “I’m hit.” Evidence of a shooting was collected by those involved, then the vehicles left the area southbound on Broadway. No evidence, victims or damaged property were located by police.

#2023-044368/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1411 hours, a Crisis Response Team (CRT) unit along with a Mental Health Professional (MHP) observed a female walking in the roadway. The CRT unit rolled down the window and pulled alongside the female and requested she walk on the sidewalk to prevent her from being hit by a car. The female turned towards the patrol car and spit directly in the face of the MHP who was sitting in the front passenger seat. The CRT unit called for an additional unit and took the suspect into custody without incident.
