Seattle Police responded to a report of an intoxicated man breaking into a car in the Belltown neighborhood Thursday afternoon near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Stewart Street.
At approximately 01:00 p.m., officers arrived and located a man about to enter a white Kia Soul parked in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue. The 25-year-old male suspect exhibited signs of being under the influence of a substance when police contacted him.
Police completed a records check of the car, which resulted in a report of it being stolen just a day ago in Issaquah. Before returning the car to its registered owner, officers searched the car and located a revolver in the glovebox and a homemade window-punch device.
The suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm due to being a convicted felon, and his outstanding felony warrant. Police later booked the suspect into King County Jail.
