Today, Seattle Police officers assigned to the Community Response Group and Patrol located and arrested an assault suspect in West Seattle. Officers recovered a gun from a stolen vehicle the suspect was driving.
On December 27th, 2022, officers responded to an assault in the 2200 block of 15th Avenue West in Queen Anne. The 61-year-old victim stated he was struck on the head with a gun. The victim was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. At the time, officers were unable to locate a suspect.
On January 17th, SPD detectives developed probable cause to arrest a suspect in the case and an arrest warrant was issued.
This afternoon, at approximately 12:23 p.m. officers located the 36-year-old male suspect in the 4700 block of 42nd Avenue Southwest and took him into custody. Officers recovered a stolen vehicle the suspect was driving and located a gun near the driver’s seat. The suspect is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The suspect will be booked into King County Jail for the felony warrant, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
