Stabbing Suspect Arrested in Downtown Seattle

Today, shortly before 2:30 a.m. police responded to a reported strong-arm robbery at the intersection of Minor Avenue and Howell Street. Upon arrival, police learned a 38-year-old male victim had been stabbed multiple times.

Officers provided first aid until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers learned the male victim was with a 32-year-old female walking home when an unknown male approached and grabbed the female victim’s purse. The male victim tried to retrieve the purse, and the suspect stabbed him in the chest.

While officers were conducting an area check for the suspect, a security guard from a local construction site called 911 to report a suspicious male on the property. The security guard recognized the male matched the description of the stabbing suspect and relayed the information to police.

Police located the 35-year-old male suspect in the 800 block of Lenora Street and took him into custody.

The suspect will be booked into King County Jail for the robbery and the assault.
