A witness called 911 after seeing a male pull out a gun on another male during a verbal altercation in the Downtown area yesterday evening.
Police arrived just before 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Pine Street and located the armed man. Upon seeing the officers, the man ran into the light rail tunnel. During the foot pursuit, the male suspect threw the handgun onto the train tracks.
Officers took the man into custody and recovered the stolen handgun.
The 20-year-old suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and his outstanding warrants.
The suspect will be booked into King County Jail after receiving medical treatment at Harborview Medical Center from a non-life-threatening injury.
